The Word of God Is So Important For Your Help

Happy is he
who has the God of Jacob for his help,
Whose hope is in the LORD his God.

(Psalm 146:5)

LORD Jesus, we praise You, for You are the One who created us, and You are the One who knows us best. You are the Word, sent by God, to heal us and deliver us. Hallelujah! Forgive us, O God, we pray, whenever we fail to acknowledge just how powerful Your Word is. Forgive, O God, we plead, for all the times we refused to hear Your Voice in 2024. Guide us into this new year, and throughout 2025. Reach out to touch and soften our hearts. Help us to draw nearer to You, to love You more and more, and to do what Your Word tells us to do. In Jesus’ precious name we pray. Amen!

The Word of the LORD is so important for your help. Beloved, do not take this lightly. This coming year, on a regular basis, pick up your Bible to read and meditate in God’s Word. Here are just three reasons for you to consider why it is so important to read the Word of God:

The Word of the LORD is Proven (Psalm 18:30)

We need to trust and follow what is proven. Verses 3 and 4 of today’s psalm (146) warn us not to put our trust in princes nor in man. Why? Because there is no help in them. Eventually they will be gone, verse 4 tells us, and then their plans will have perished, too. We often do not know what kind of foundation they had built their plans upon. Also, what has been “true” in man’s view a more or less long time ago, might have proven “wrong” in modern days. We should question, if the world’s wisdom can ever be whole and nothing but the truth.

The Word of the LORD is Truth (John 17:17)

God’s Word is proven and is true. It can be trusted because it never changes over time.

The Word of the LORD Endures Forever (1 Peter 1:25)

God’s proven Truth, His Word, endures forever. The people we know will eventually die (Ecclesiastes 2:14, Hebrews 9:27). Their advice may no longer be accessible (except if written down), and their plans for the future are gone, too. Nothing endures forever. Nothing except the Word of the LORD.

Isaiah 40:6-8 tells us that, All flesh is like grass, and its beauty is like the flower we find in a field. The grass withers and the flower fades away, but the Word of the LORD stands forever. Hallelujah!
