Bible Reading in 2025 – Part 3

Hear my prayer, O LORD,
And give ear to my cry;
Do not be silent at my tears;
For I am a stranger with You,
A sojourner, as all my fathers were.

(Psalm 39:12)

LORD Jesus, we praise You, for You are the One who is able to give us rest. Forgive us, O God, we pray, whenever we neglect to draw near to You.We so often fail to be still before You, our God and Savior. Help us to trust in You and not to lean unto our own understanding. Guide us to acknowledge You in all our ways. Direct our paths, precious LORD. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray. Amen.

In Bible Reading in 2025 – Part 1 I mentioned three important things that will help us read through the Bible in 2025. In Part 2 of this little series, I listed a few plans and sources for you to go to, if you are still searching for a Bible Reading Plan to use.

In today’s blog post, I want to mention a few things about dedicating a place where you can meet with God–best on a daily basis.

Fast-paced and Noisy World

Do you remember the lockdown during the worldwide pandemic in the early 2020s? All of the sudden, many of the noises and movements were completely shut down. People were confined to their homes. Whether that was an evil or good thing is not up for discussion in today’s post, but I wanted to use this example to point to something that happened at the Passover in Egypt many years ago (Exodus 12).

The Israelites were told that none of them should go out of the door of their houses until morning (Exodus 12:22). While the LORD passed through the area outside to strike the Egyptians, the LORD’s people were kept safe inside their homes.

Do you have a safe place?

Can you clain and/or do you treasure your little sanctuary at home? A spare room, a walk-in closet, even a tiny part of the house divided by a curtain from the other living areas, could serve well.

It is good, and necessary, for you to draw near to God. With obstacles in your way, however, this can be hard or nearly impossible at times. Dedicate a place for you to draw back to. Let  others know, that while you are in your “hiding place” you do not want to be disturbed–except in a case of an emergency, of course.

Do you have a safe place to meet God today?
