Who Is This Man?

Therefore many of them believed;
also of honourable women which were Greeks,
and of men,
not a few.

(Acts 17:12 — KJV)

LORD Jesus, we praise You for the freedom we have to own a Bible. Forgive us, O God we pray, whenever we fail to spend time in Your Word. Guides us, precious LORD, so we are able to search the Scriptures. Help us to discover what they are saying about You. Give us hearts that are hungry for Your words and promises. In Jesus’ powerful name we pray. Amen.

Who Is This Man?

The fourth chapter in the Gospel of John tells us a story about a Samaritan woman. She came to draw water from Jacob’s well when Jesus told her to give Him a drink. In return, she asked him a couple of question, and He answered them all. Then He challenged her with a question to which He already knew the answer. She called Him a prophet. They continued and spoke about worship and the coming of the promised Messiah.

The woman then left her water-pot, went her way into the city, and said to the men,

“Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did.
Could this be the Christ?”

(John 4:28-29)

Who Is This Man?

The men then went to see Jesus and heard Him speak. And many of them believed in Him because of what the Samaritan woman had shared about Him. They urged Him to stay with them, and so He did for two days.

And many more believed because of His own word.

(John 4:41)

Yes, these men were able to meet with Jesus, but so are we. We do that in a different way, but we are still able to meet with our Savior every day.

Today’s verse says that many of them believed. They received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily.

Read His Word, for His Word will tell you more about Christ the LORD today.
