My Sheep hear My voice,
and I know them,
and they follow Me.
(John 10:27)
LORD Jesus, we praise You, for You are the Great Shepherd. Forgive us, O God, we pray, whenever we are longing to hear the voice of this world instead of seeking to hear Your Voice. Help us to diligently study Your Word and to understand what Your Spirit is saying to us. Enable us, we ask, to hear Your Voice and to follow You. In Jesus’ precious name we pray. Amen.
Last Sunday, the pastor answered one of the most asked question a Christian has. He said to his congregation,
Do you know where you will hear the Voice of God?
In His Word.
(Pastor Vincent Quinlan)
God speaks to some Christians all the time, or so they claim. Others are afraid that God does not love them because He does not seem to talk to them at all. There are those that call the Voice of God “a still small voice.” Then, there are others who say that God’s Voice is a mighty one that will make you tremble whenever you hear Him speak.
I’m not going to ask you now what you are thinking. Instead, I want to know what are you reading about God? Who are you listening to? What book/s are you studying that tell you who God is? Where and when do you seek the LORD?
True, we can listen to sermons and hear about the One who has made the heaven and the earth. Of course, we can read about our Father in Heaven in good books that are full of sound doctrine. We can also use study materials found in apps, books, ebooks, and software.
The most reliable source to find out more about yourself, the purpose of life, and, your Maker, is God. Commentators, preachers, and teachers of the Bible share what they believe to be true. You need the whole Truth, and nothing but the Truth. That is why you should always search and read the Scripture for yourself, too.
