Bible Reading in 2025 – Part 1

Behold,
As the eyes of the servants look to the hand of their masters,
As the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress,

So our eyes look to the LORD our God,
Until He has mercy on us.

(Psalm 123:2)

LORD Jesus, we praise You, for You are our Master. Forgive us, O God, that we so often seek a counsel that is contrary to Your Word. Reach out to touch our hearts, souls, and minds. Help us to love You more and more with each new day of 2025. Guide us in reading Your Word, so we will find the wisdom and the understanding that comes from You and is not of this world. Let us not walk in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of the scornful. Instead, enable us daily to delight and meditate in Your law. In Jesus’ precious and powerful name we pray. Amen.

2025 is nearly here. There are not even four weeks left until this year is over. Do not delay, for now is the best time to think of New Year’s resolutions.

Reading God’s Word in 2025

Set a goal to read through the Bible next year. Do not stop there, however, for, as one writer said,

A goal without a plan is just a wish.

(Antoine de Saint-Exupery)

In order to reach the goal of reading through the Bible in 2025, you will need to have a plan.

1 Get a guide to read through the whole Bible.
2 Dedicate a place where you can have your daily devotions.
3 Schedule a non-negotiable time for reading God’s Word.

I’ll write more on these three points in the coming three weeks, so please stay tuned.
