Who can find a virtuous woman?
For her price is far above rubies.
Proverbs 31:10 (KJV)
LORD Jesus we praise You for the day that You have made. Guide us in Your Word, O God we pray. Let us diligently study Your Word, trust in it, and obey what it tells us to do. Enable us, precious LORD, we ask, to see Your perfect Will for our life. Help us to acknowledge in what areas we are lying about our strength and how to gain true Strength. Let us see where our power is coming from and how we are to use it in a way that will give honor and power and glory to Your Name. In Jesus’ mighty and wonderful name we pray. Amen.
She’s got something of both eras: the retro- and the modern kind of look. What a beauty she is—at least on the outside. Once called “perfect for entertainment,” however, she is not living up to her original purpose.
How is she ever going to turn into all that she could be, as long as she seeks transformation that goes against her creator and what he meant for her to become like!?
I was just talking about my retro kitchen here, but through some of the fights with and against her, I’m learning important lessons for life. And, I get to share one or the other lesson with you through my blog posts. So please bear with me.
If we are to look up the original word that has been translated into English as “virtuous” we would find some of the following words for this Hebrew word “chayil.”
– a force (of men, means, or other resources)
– an army, wealth, virtue, valor, strength
In other words, the kind of woman a man should seek to become his wife should be a strong woman. No, not physically (even though this might be necessary at times), but strong in many other ways. We will talk more about “The Power We Have” and the Proverbs 31 Woman in next week’s blog posts.
What does God’s Word tell you about the reason He has made strong women for today?
