Your Friends

Then those who feared the LORD spoke to one another,
And the LORD listened and heard them;
So a book of remembrance was written before Him
For those who fear the LORD
And who meditate on His name.

“They shall be Mine,” says the LORD of hosts,
“On the day that I make them My jewels.
And I will spare them
As a man spares his own son who serves him.”

Then you shall again discern
Between the righteous and the wicked,
Between one who serves God
And one who does not serve Him.

Malachi 3:16-18

LORD Jesus we praise for You are always with us. Forgive us, O God we pray, whenever we’ll give You a second place. Help us to make You number One in our life: our best Friend, the One we can run to and talk to — no matter what the hour of the day and whatever problem we are facing. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray.

In Monday’s blog post I already posted some challenging questions for us to ask about the influences in our life. Let me continue today by asking you more about your friend/s:

What are the kind of friends you like to spend time with?
What are some of the things you will do together?
In what ways will your friend/s have an influence on you for you to come along and to participate in more or less godly actions?

This week I stumbled across today’s Bible verses and they are on my mind throughout the week. I love verse 17! It is one of the many verses in God’s Word that is speaking about God’s people belonging to Him. We belong to Him—Hallelujah! It continues to say that, One day He will make us His Jewels. What a thought! Beloved, we do belong to Him, and we are precious to Him. Is that not reason enough for us to watch who and what is influencing our life (leading us on our path)?

Let us review Malachi 3:16-18 and challenge ourselves with these questions:

Are we of those who fear the LORD, and do we speak to one another (in the way we ought to), and meditate on His name (together and in our private devotional time)?

Are we convinced that we are His (Sheep of His Pasture as Psalm 100 says), and that we are precious to Him? Will we believe that He will spare us and deliver us?

Are we able to discern between the righteous and the wicked, between the one who serve God and the one who does not serve Him?

Know the good Way and walk in it today.
