Time for Resolutions

Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD.
Praise ye the LORD.

(Psalm 150:6)

LORD Jesus we praise You for You are the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. You do not change and You said that You would never leave us nor forsake us. Hallelujah! Forgive us, O God we pray, whenever our attention is all over the place except for in Your Word. Guide us throughout this coming year to spend more quality time with You — to read what You are speaking to us and to do what You are commanding us to do. Help us to love You more and more with each day. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

The end of this year draws near. There are only hours left of it until it is over. It is high time to plan our New Year’s resolutions.

What is 2022 going to be like? We do not know. Who, on the last day of 2019, would have thought of a worldwide pandemic coming up within the next couple of months? We can never make the perfect plans for the following year because we do not know the future — at least not all the details of it.

Still, let me ask you: On the last day of 2021 have you made any New Year’s resolutions yet? What would you like to stop and what do you plan on starting to do? Is there a specific place you want to visit? From which area would you like to withdraw in 2022?

In regard to your spiritual journey here on earth, say, are you planning on giving more of your time and money to a specific cause or vocation? How about lending a helping hand to people in need? Have you also thought of spending more time with the LORD — reading His Word, talking to Him in prayer, praising God and declaring His mighty acts?

Whatever the future may bring: make praising your Creator and Savior a top priority — starting today.
