For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.
LORD Jesus we praise You for You have created all things and You are the One who knows all things. Forgive us, O God we pray, whenever we forget that the One who has made us all is also the One who knows us and all of our circumstances. Help us to seek Your Will for our life. Enable us to trust that You work out all things together for good — everything according to Your perfect Plan. In Jesus’ precious name we pray. Amen.
In last week’s post “The Journey and Its Destination” I gave you a little introduction to the posts of this coming week: The Journey.
For the Christian, “Destination Heaven” remains the main goal, no doubt about that. The journey, however, is by far not unimportant. In fact, it is much more important than most of us are thinking that it is — Or at least it should be.
While focusing on the journey, of course we need to keep one thing in mind: reaching “Destination Heaven” is all due to Christ the LORD, for He alone is our Righteousness. He alone has purchased our “Ticket” to heaven. So, at the beginning of the journey, let’s draw our attention to the next few verses found in Colossians 1
And He is before all things,
and in Him all things consist.
And He is the head of the body, the church,
who is the beginning,
the firstborn from the dead,
that in all things He may have the preeminence.
For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell,
and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself,
whether things on earth or things in heaven,
having made peace through the blood of his cross.
Keep your focus on Christ who is your Righteousness today.
