Know that God Rules

And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

Daniel 7:14

LORD Jesus we praise You for You are the Ruler over all. You have made the heaven and the earth. Forgive us, O God we pray, whenever we think more highly of ourselves and of others and the things we do. How easily we forget that You are above all. Help us to have faith in You and that everyone and everything is in Your Hands. Hallelujah! There is nothing, absolutely nothing, that could separate us from Your Love. Enable us, precious LORD, to be ambassadors for Christ, more than conquerors, and firm believers in the living and everlasting God and His mighty Hand. In Jesus’ precious name we pray. Amen.

We have just finished the Book of Ezekiel. It’s full of “Thus saith the Lord GOD” and warnings to the wicked nations and to the unfaithful servants of God. How rebellious people can be, and how easily His People can forget their God — what a shame. Yet the Voice of the Almighty God continues to speak (even through His Word today). I challenge you, if you haven’t done so yet, to take a set time to read through the Book of Ezekiel and study it.

Now we are in the Book of Daniel, and, after a bumpy start, I’m beginning to like it. At first I didn’t look forward to reading it. “It’s a short book. There are only twelve chapters to read,” said my hubby. Well, yes, I thought, but the start was not an overall enthusiastic one, I’ll have to admit. Today, having arrived in chapter 8 I’m a bit saddened that there are only four chapters left in this book.

Sometimes it is a book that we are reading that we do not want to put down, at other times it might be a holiday we do not want to end, but life under the sun needs to go on.

What lies ahead of you? What do you have to let go? What does God want you to do next?

For us it will be a move into a new home, but first of all we have to let go of this lovely place — a house that we have called “our home” over the past 6 1/2 years.

No matter what, know that God rules today!
