A Psalm of Thanksgiving.
Make a joyful shout to the LORD, all you lands!
Serve the LORD with gladness;
Come before His presence with singing.
Know that the LORD, He is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
For the LORD is good;
His mercy is everlasting,
And His truth endures to all generations.
LORD Jesus we praise You for You have made us, saved us from our sins, and You are the One who sustains us. We belong to You. Hallelujah! Forgive us, O God we pray, whenever we try to be independent from You. Enable us to see that we are Your people, and that You are the Great Shepherd who nurtures His sheep. Help us to praise You, to be thankful unto You, and to bless Your holy name. Yes, You are good, and Your mercy is everlasting, and Your Truth endures forever. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray. Amen.
Something happened to me nearly thirty years ago. It was quite a dramatic experience that changed my life forever. You can read more about this in “My Testimony.”
Now I belong to Him
Ever since that journey has begun I’m learning more and more each year while I’m reading through the Bible. It’s fascinating, comforting, encouraging, and I never want to be without the Word of God ever again.
Disappointments come and go. Sooner or later people will leave us. A spouse might divorce us or dies before we do; a former like-minded friend might show total different beliefs and interests and goes her own way from now on. No matter what the case, people will eventually leave our life and this earth. There is, however:
The One who will never leave
Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU NOR FORSAKE YOU.”
Believe in the One who has made you. He is the One you belong to today.
