Continuous Growing in Faith

So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God.”

Mark 11:22

LORD Jesus, we praise You for You are the everlasting God, Creator of the heavens and the earth and everything in it. You are the One who is able to perform, and with You nothing is impossible — all according in Your Timing and Your perfect Will and Purpose. Help us, O God we ask, to have faith in You, and keep us on the right Path now and forevermore. In Jesus’ precious name we pray. Amen.

What happens after you have sown a seed in your garden? You watch it grow. At first there is no sign of what happens in the compost. The next thing you notice is the tiny plant that just appeared on top of the soil. And then you will watch it grow and grow some more until it has grown enough to bear fruit.

Faith is like that. First there is the Seed of the Word sown into our life. And we are all exited at that time, are we not? Oh, and how thrilled we are about the first appearance of the Word working inside of us. Then, after another while and for a shorter or longer period of time, there might not be much growing going on. We become frustrated and begin to wonder what has happened. How can we continue to make progress in our growing in the faith?

What is faith?

Now faith is
the substance of things hoped for,
the evidence of things not seen.

Hebrews 11:1

We do agree that we have to be aware of false teaching, right? One of the things false teaching will rob us of is hope. It will also try to convince us that we can only have faith in things which are visible. If the things are not seen, so they say, they cannot be true — they cannot be counted as facts.

Our continuous growth in faith depends much on who we believe God is, and what we believe about His works in the past, in this present time, and in the future.

Have faith in God today.
