You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart,
with all your soul,
and with all your strength.
And these words
which I command you today
shall be in your heart.
LORD Jesus, we praise You for You did not only teach us to love, but You are Love. Forgive us, LORD, whenever we do not take Your Word to heart. Help us to love You, the very Word of God, and to grow in the grace and knowledge that comes from and through God’s Word. Enable us to draw nearer and nearer and to love you more and more every day so that Your Word takes deep root in our heart. In Jesus’ precious name we pray. Amen
There is so much to do, but it seems that there is not enough time to accomplish all of it. The whole house is unclean and filled with clutter. How am I ever going to finish up cleaning and putting things in order before my guests arrive? I simply cannot do it!
Yes, you can! Just as easily as you could memorize a whole book or chapter of the Bible. How? By breaking down the overwhelming and huge task into bite-sized pieces.
True, in the case of a spontaneous announcement or the sudden arrival of guests at your doorstep, it might not be possible to get all of the cleanup done in time — but that’s another post for another day.
Let’s think of memorizing parts of God’s Word and/or making His Word sink into your heart. The trick is that we will have to work on it over and over again.
Remember what I have shared in Monday’s post about the incremental way of learning?
First of all, new concepts are broken down in bite-sized pieces. They are studied bit by bit. Once introduced, each new concept is constantly being reviewed — over and over again — until it is known by heart.
Listen to God’s Word at every place and at every hour today.
