Sing to the LORD

Oh come, let us sing to the LORD!
Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving;
Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.

Psalm 95:1-2

LORD Jesus, we praise You for You are the great God and the great King above all. Hallelujah! You have made everything, and we are the people of Your Pasture. We are the sheep of Your Hand. Forgive us, O God we pray, whenever we harden our hearts because of discomfort or trials we are facing. Let us look up to You for help, our God and our Savior. Enable us to worship You in Truth and in Spirit, and guide us that we may trust and obey Your Word. In Jesus’ precious name we pray.

Before telling us one of his stories, our friend likes to say: “Of course you know that my head is full of useless trivia.” Then he usually smiles and goes on sharing what he was about to share.

We are flooded, on a daily basis, by all kinds of trivial ideas. These thoughts, that are coming our way through all kinds of channels, do have a more or less influence on us. It is up to us to sort through them and to keep only what is good.

Now, our friend, who happens to be a Christian also, might carry around some useless trivia, however, his head is also full of Bible verses and worship songs. In fact, he loves to play the guitar and sing — beautiful songs!

Do you like to sing?

Let us sing to the LORD! says the Psalmist. “But I cannot sing,” you may say. Why do you think so? Is it because you think you do not have the talent to sing? Or is it because you do not enjoy singing? Do not let either hinder you from singing praises to God.

Sing to the LORD your God today.
