So this day shall be to you a memorial; and you shall keep it as a feast to the LORD throughout your generations. You shall keep it as a feast by an everlasting ordinance.
LORD Jesus, we praise You for You are the Lamb of God. Thank You for the Word that You have provided for us. Forgive us whenever we are reading our Bibles half-hearted. Draw our attention to the passages in the Scriptures that You want us to study further, to know and to understand. Keep us alert during our worship and devotional time, and guide us in our daily Bible reading. In Jesus’ powerful name we pray. Amen.
Do you celebrate specific days throughout the year? What are some of the holidays you are observing? Is there one that makes you particularly happy and/or one that makes you rather sad? Surely there are days in the year on which you are celebrating anniversaries, birthdays, and other events.
My mom used to keep a small windowsill in her living room for special occasions. It was always tidy and sparkling clean. During specific days she would place a picture of a person to remember and a flower pot on the sill of the window. Even if others in her household forgot to think of the birthday or death anniversary of that relative whose photo was set up, they would remember as soon as they walked into the living room.
Who do you say is Jesus Christ?
The Passover is of significant importance to the Christian. There are several chapters in Scripture (e.g. Matthew 26, Mark 14, Luke 22) that shed light on why the Son of God, The Word, became flesh, dwelt among us, and died for us.
Remember the quote I shared with you in the introduction of this series?
The new is in the old concealed; the old is in the new revealed.
Remember also one of the Bible verses I quoted in this same blog post?
Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed
Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.
1 Corinthians 5:7
So, let me ask you this today: What is your view like? Have you found eternal Life? Do you hope in God? Whose picture do you keep on the windowsill of your heart?
Remember Christ your Passover Lamb today.
