You will keep him in perfect peace,
Whose mind is stayed on You,
Because he trusts in You.
LORD Jesus, we praise You for You do not only give us but You are the very Peace which surpasses all understanding. Forgive us, O God we pray, whenever we are trying to find peace in other things and places. There is no true peace beside the Peace that is coming from, by, and through You. Help us to trust in You, and keep us in perfect Peace — now and forever. In Jesus’ precious name we pray. Amen.
With so much going on in the world these days who can find peace, let alone perfect peace? Some days are worse than others, aren’t they? The hardest part of it all is not knowing what lies ahead.
It’s a bit like giving birth to your first child: you have no idea what to expect and what you are going to face in the next couple of hours. The Bible, in that same chapter of Isaiah, says that:
… a woman with child is in pain and cries out in her pangs, when she draws near the time of her delivery.
In my post Praise God and Shout for Joy I shared that:
“The best advice my midwife has given to me shortly before the birth of my firstborn son was: “Relax!” Now, that’s hard to do when you are in labor pain. It seems impossible! But you know what? The more tense I’ve gotten, the more the pain increased. The minute I willfully started to relax was the minute when the pain became bearable.”
While this pandemic is still going on in this world, are you longing for perfect Peace? Then do not concentrate on isolation, pain, sorrows, what-ifs, and so on. These will overwhelm you and drag you down.
Keep your mind on Christ Jesus and trust in Him.
