Know that the LORD, He is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
LORD Jesus, we praise You for You are the Creator of the heavens and the earth and everything in it. We have not made ourselves, but You have made us, and we are Your people. Forgive us, O God we pray, that we so often fail to humble ourselves in Your Sight and under Your mighty Hand. And how many times are we looking to the heavens, which declare Your glory, and, instead of standing in awe, we continue to walk in our own ways. Enable us to do what Your Word says that we should do so that others may see that we are Your People who are called by Your Name. Let the people fear the LORD who is God the Most High. In Jesus’ powerful name we pray. Amen.
Chronicles 7:14 has been a much quoted verse at the beginning of this worldwide pandemic. In my post Seek His Face I talked briefly about this verse and the one before that. Here is what I wrote about being “His People”
During these times, more than ever, we need to remember that God is the One who has made us; we are His people, and we are called by His name. What an amazing thought that is! This alone should make us humble and drive us to our knees.
“If My people…” — Are we His People?
We need to diligently seek Christ and find out what He wants us to do.
We need to be and stay in Christ and then we are Abraham’s seed and heirs according to God’s promise (Galatians 3:29).
We need to love Christ. If we love Him we will keep His commandments. God is not moved by words and empty promises. He wants us to trust in Him. He wants our whole hearts. He wants our obedience.
Love the LORD your God with all your heart.
