Before Him

I cry out to the LORD with my voice;
With my voice to the LORD I make my supplication.
I pour out my complaint before Him;
I declare before Him my trouble.

Psalm 142:1-2

LORD Jesus, we praise You that we are able to come before You today. Guide us in Your Word, O LORD, we pray. Help us to pour out our complaints and declare our troubles before You. We want to seek Your Wisdom, listen to Your Counsel, and do Your Will. Enable us to remind ourselves that, no matter what, You remain in control. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray. Amen.

In my mind it was about time to get round the table and clear things up; so we planned to have a calm and objective talk. After a few days I ran out of patience. I took matters in my own hands and decided that this was the day to be talking about things.

Sitting at the table I just kept throwing one argument after another at him. I kept complaining and putting down the one I’m supposed to be building up.

“Oh what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer.”

(What a Friend We Have In Jesus)

In Whose Life Is It I told you about an upcoming surgery I’m worried about. While I do find great comfort in the words found in Psalm 139:16

Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.
And in Your book they all were written,
The days fashioned for me,
When as yet there were none of them.

I continue to struggle not to let my fears about any possible risks go overboard. You see, this time it is different — very different. I’m not the one going into hospital for surgery, but my husband is. I’m afraid of not knowing what to do and what could happen to him.

Girl, if you find yourself in a similar situation, why don’t you join me? Let us not worry, but let us bring everything before Him! There is nothing we can change or do to make things worse or better. Instead, let’s cry out to the LORD, who is God Almighty, Creator and Sustainer of all Life. He remains in control!

It’s okay to cry out to the LORD. Carry everything to God in prayer.
