The Challenge of Control — Handing Over

Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.

Proverbs 3:5-6
(emphasis mine)

LORD Jesus, we praise You. You are our God and Maker. Thank You for watching over us all through the night. It is You who gives us sleep during the night, and it is You who will wake us up again. Our lives are in Your Hands. Hallelujah! You know us so well, more than we could ever know ourselves. Help us to stay focused on You. Guide us through Your Word. Enable us to love You more and more each day. In Jesus’ wonderful name we pray. Amen.

Today’s post is the last of the three challenges for this week: Let go of control, know that He is God, and trust completely in the LORD.

We are neither a product which just happened to come into existence, nor are we the pure result of two people making love. God is our Maker. He made us and not we ourselves (Psalm 100:3).

He is not only our Creator. Psalm 139:1-4 tell us that
– God searches and knows us. (1)
– He knows when we sit down and when we get up. (2)
– The LORD understands our thoughts. (2)
– He comprehends our path and our lying down. (3)
– God is acquainted with all our ways. (3)
– He even knows each word we have said, are about to say, and will say in the future. (4)

But that’s still not all! The next verse shares with us that
He has hedged us in and holds us in His Hand. (5) How amazing to know this about our LORD and Savior! It’s so wonderful we can’t hardly grasp it, can we? (6)

The following verses reveal to us that we cannot hide from God, and there is no place where He is not present. (7-9) His Hand leads us and hold us (10) even through the dark night (11).

Precious sister, the LORD knows you, and He knows the beginning and the end. Imagine, He is even capable to understand your thoughts! Who else is? He not only knows each word you intend to say before you’ve ever said it, but He knows each tear you cry, too.

God is there for you during the darkness and while it is day, in sickness and in health, in poverty and in wealth, during the tough times and while you are enjoying the good times. Have no fear! For He is with you everywhere. His rod and His staff shall comfort you. (Psalm 23:4)

Don’t demand to have it your own way, girl. And, in desperate times, don’t despair when things are not going according to (your) plan. Let go of your own understanding, and know that God remains in control no matter what. Hand over to Him your worries, and let Him have complete control. Know that He is God and perfectly able to perform what He has promised in His Word.

Trust in Him and in His perfect Will with all your heart today.
