You Have to Know Him for Yourself

Jesus answered him, “Are you speaking for yourself about this, or did others tell you this concerning Me?”

Johannes 18:34

LORD Jesus, we praise You for opening our eyes to the Truth, the Way, the Life, so we can spend eternity with You, O God our Savior. Guide us in Your Truth, and keep us on the everlasting Way. Teach us to lead others to You so that they will also find this Life. In Jesus’ precious name we pray. Amen.

Sunrise at the Irish Sea in June 2020

Watching the sun rise at the horizon of the Irish Sea is just so incredible. I want to capture and enjoy every single moment of it. Most of the time I’m tempted to take out my camera and start taking pictures. But you know what? By now I know that I shouldn’t. Instead I need to take hold of the very moments and enjoy each one of them right there.

And so do you, precious sister in Christ.

A photo of the sunrise can only give a glimpse into what has happened there and then. It’s indescribable! We have to be at the scene to be able to fully enjoy each moment of it.

You have to be there — in the presence of Christ Jesus — to fully enjoy Him.

Even though it was a time of darkness due to the night the sun never disappeared. We just couldn’t see it during the night-time. The sunrise at our horizon will call us to stand in awe of it. Will we capture and enjoy each moment of it?

When the Son calls us and brightens up our life do we stand still and know that He is God?

When our nights are dark do we know that the Son is not gone — He promised that He will never leave us nor forsake us.

When the dark night ends and the Son rises at our horizon will we stand in awe of Him and praise Him for guiding us through the suffering and pain?

Seek the LORD. Get to know Him more and more each day.
