What shall I render to the LORD
For all His benefits toward me?
LORD Jesus, we praise You for giving so much and so freely to us and for blessing us through Your great Love and Mercy. What did we receive that hasn’t come out of Your Hand? Where could we go without You, and how could we exist if You would have not made us before? Thank You, LORD, for loving and caring for us. In Jesus’ wonderful name we pray. Amen.
Have you noticed which items the supermarkets are short of lately? Who would have thought that stores could run out of flour, milk, and eggs so quickly? What is going on at the moment? People are back into making things at home.
Certain food products, arts and crafts supplies, and items for use in the garden are low in stock at the moment; and so are books that teach their readers how to bake and cook, crochet and knit, and much more.
All of this happens because of a need and not because we want to go back to the old days. I mean, if there is no bread available at the store, what are we to do about it? We make some at home, of course. With many people running into the same problem, many will start baking their own breads, and many will notice that supplies are limited.
Yes, there is a lot we can and should do especially now: budget wisely, bake and cook homemade food, work on projects made out of fabric and wool, and raise some fruit and vegetable plants for days to come. In all of this we should remember our Creator, though. He is the One who has made everything and who will provide and give these things to us.
In 1 Chronicles 29:11-12 we read part of a prayer of worship and thanksgiving that David prayed. He had given many things to the work of the temple, but he also acknowledged that, if it hadn’t been for the LORD, he could have given none of all these things.
Yours, O LORD, is the greatness,
The power and the glory,
The victory and the majesty;
For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours;
Yours is the kingdom, O LORD,
And You are exalted as head over all.
Both riches and honor come from You,
And You reign over all.
In Your hand is power and might;
In Your hand it is to make great
And to give strength to all.
We need to remember that it is He who has made us. It is God who has the power to give and to take away. And it is the LORD who enables us to work with our hands. Praise Him! All glory to Him!
Thank Him and praise His name for all that He has blessed you with.
