And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
LORD Jesus, we humbly come before You today to praise a God that remains in control even while all of this is going on. How great You are! How wonderful are Your mighty acts. Draw us near to Yourself, Almighty God, as we draw near to You. Enable us to praise You with our whole hearts. Help us to acknowledge You in all that we think, say, and do today. In Jesus’ great and powerful name we pray. Amen.
Who would have thought, years ago, that something like this is going to happen one day? Laws have been established that restrict our movements to a minimum, and our lives changed dramatically. We fight against our own anxiety, help others to overcome their fears, try to comfort and encourage the broken-hearted, and cry out to God for the lost and the ones in need. These are desperate times.
I’m thinking of Joseph. He was loved more than all his siblings. His father gave him a coat of many colors. Joseph used to dream big. His brothers were jealous of him, and so they sold Joseph into Egypt. His life changed dramatically. Yet in all the hardships he faced God was with him!
When we are in the middle of a trial we often can’t see how the things are supposed to be working out for good. What about the bad things happening to us? How about the evil we are facing during these times? Remember, precious sister, that God remains in control and that He is at work!
Yes, Joseph’s brothers were against him back then. He was chosen by God, however, and sent ahead to Egypt so he would be there to provide grains to his brothers and father’s house:
But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.
I’m thinking of this lockdown situation. Yes, there is a lot going on that we are wondering about. Of course we don’t like to be shut in and not knowing the outcome. But, precious sisters in Christ, remember that we serve a sovereign God who remains in control and who will, indeed, work out all things together for good to those who love God.
Love God and be confident that God is good all the time.
