Grateful Praises

For the beauty of the earth,
For the beauty of the skies,
For the Love which from our birth
Over and around us lies:
Christ, our God to Thee we raise
This our Sacrifice of Praise.

(For the Beauty of the Earth — by Folliot S. Pierpoint)

We humbly come before You this day to praise You for all Your benefits. You have given us so much. We lift up our hearts to You, O LORD and Creator of the heavens and the earth. Thank You for providing for us and for making a way so that, one day, we can be with You for all eternity. In Jesus’ holy name we pray. Amen.

God is amazing! Just over these last few days He has brought many things into my life for which I’m so grateful to Him. One of these blessings happened yesterday.

Over the past few weeks we had been restricted to stay within a 2km radius of our home. I found that very hard especially since we are living so close to the Irish Sea. It doesn’t matter if I’m looking out the window east, south, or west, on a clear day like this I can see the Irish Sea from here. Well, guess what? It’s more than 2km but less than 5km away from our home.

So we couldn’t go to the beach lately. Yesterday the LORD has send this little friend right to my doorstep. It was as if it was telling me that if I cannot go to the beach it will come over to see me.

A few days ago, as we were walking on the road that would lead us to the beach I have seen the most beautiful flowers along the way. Oh, and then there was this little fellow.

I treasure these moments and I’m saddened by the fact that I have so often neglected to open my eyes to see the beauty of God’s creation that is usually so very close to me.

It’s on my heart that we will not get back to the “normal” that used to be before this lockdown. Instead, let us never forget where we have come from and where we are going. Most importantly, let us remember and worship the God who had freed us and made the way for us to enter the Kingdom of Heaven some day.

Praise Christ Jesus the LORD.
