I will sing of mercy and justice;
To You, O LORD, I will sing praises.
How can we sing of mercy and justice in a time like this? Singing praises to the LORD now doesn’t come natural at all. What will it accomplish? Praising God for answered prayers sounds logical, but praising Him in the middle of trials?
Remember, dear Sister, that this is a spiritual battle. Focusing on what things look like or dwelling on “What ifs” will not help. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal. We have to deliberately think on things above and be obedient to what God says. His Word calls us to sing praises to Him no matter what is happening around us.
Easier said than done, I know. Let us put our feelings and negative thoughts about circumstances aside and listen to what God’s Word calls us to do. We should praise Him no matter how we are feeling and despite what is going on around us. The amazing thing is that as soon as we do this the thick, dark clouds that overshadowed us will break up and we will see blue skies and the sun that was hidden behind the clouds.
Do we only praise Him for things He has done for us? Or do we come before His presence to praise Him for who He is? Do we love the LORD with all our heart, soul, and strength? He is the Creator of the heavens and the earth, God the great I AM, Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace, Light of the World, the Door, the Good Shepherd, the Son of God, the Resurrection and the Life, the Vine, the King of kings and LORD of lords, the Alpha and the Omega.
Praise Him today!
