Memorize Scripture

That they may set their hope in God,
and not forget the works of God,
But keep His commandments;

Psalm 78:7

I wrote down this verse in my Bible journal this morning. Teaching the next generation about the Word of God is so important. We are called not to hide God’s Word from our children. Praise the LORD! Teach them! Show them how to put it into action!

One way to make it sink into their minds and hearts is by memorizing verses. Teach them while they are young — that’s when their ability to memorize Scripture is quite good.

How?

Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Listening to verses over and over again is a good method. Another is to have them copy verses. Yet another is to read the verse then cover it and then try to repeat it by memory. Also, connect the verse/s to something they already know — linking the new with something familiar will help to remember the new.

Remember the Word of God!
